Ronan can now pull himself up to a standing position in his crib. He likes to shuffle his way along all four sides so he can get a look at everything around him. Here he is in is pack ‘n’ play, which we set near the aquarium so he can stand up and watch the fish.
At his 6 month checkup, Ronan weighed 16 pounds 2 ounces and measured 27 and 3/4 inches. This puts him at the 25th percentile for weight and the 90th for height. He’s continuing the trend of being long and skinny.
Ronan is sitting up by himself and grabbing everything. He is very alert and curious. Given something to hold on to, he can stand for minutes at a time. He is starting to crawl, somewhat. It’s more of an inchworm action, but he does cover ground. He is very chatty and can babble along for an hour. He has also perfected his shrieking squeal of delight, much to daddy’s dismay. His pitch and volume are eardrum rupturing.
He is on stage two foods now. He still loves sweet potatoes and squash the most, but he is a bit less picky about other flavors than he was a month ago. He likes YoBaby Yogurt, cereals with fruit, and just about any veggie. He still hasn’t taken to the poultry flavors yet.
Bath time is now about more than getting clean. Ronan has taken to the water and enjoys splashing and playing with his floating toys.
Ronan got his third round of DTaP immunizations. He is scheduled to get his third round of HIB and PREVNAR shots next week.
All is well with Ronan. He is happy guy who is growing and developing just fine.
A couple weeks ago Ronan really got the hang of sitting up by himself. He enjoys his new trick and shows it off all the time. Here he is in his playpen playing with his steering wheel.
A favorite activity in the morning is to lean against the back of the couch and watch the reef. Ronan practices his standing while watching the fish swim around.
Ronan always wants to stand. He can’t stand on his own yet, but if you give him something to grab he can support himself for several minutes at a time.
Ronan had lots of fun with Diana when she came to California over break.
